1) I think that I have been cast as the Morton Downey Jr of comic book podcasting. I have more people sending me emails that they love the rants that I do than ones telling me that they like or dislike my opinions. I'm not sure how I feel about my opinions, likes and dislikes being distilled into schtick.
2) I want some grits, but I hate making them for some reason.

Renee makes some kick-ass grits, but not often enough.
Damn, now I want some...
I just enjoy hearing you make some noise.
The rants sometimes are priceless but I like listening to you talk about life around comics. That's something that you do that not a lot of other shows do-- you relate comics to a larger life.
Of course, whenever I feel a rant coming on, I do think "I'm going into Derek mode here."
Another way to put it-- you're honest. Brutally, sometimes vehemently, sometimes quietly honest in your 'casts. You're not putting on the show others are. I don't think that the "Derek" that's on CBN is different than the Derek I email back and forth with.
